I shot this photograph of Raquel Welch when I was on assignment at the 1974 Academy Awards for London’s Daily Express. They flew me out from NYC for the event. This photo won me the British Press Photographer of the Year in Fashion. I flew to London to pick up my award and I was the only American there! I don’t think the other British photographers appreciated a Yank taking the award. Raquel looks amazing in this photo, the lighting was perfect as she came down the red carpet.
